I need you to help me save my life! I’m a thirty five year old married father from Birmingham Alabama and was diagnosed with Late Stage Chronic Neurological Lyme disease in June of 2012. If caught early Lyme disease can be successfully treated with a short course of antibiotic medications. I was bitten by a tick in June 2008 and went to multiple doctors that did not diagnose my condition properly and my infection was allowed to grow and spread to every system in my body over four years.
The disease has now deeply embedded within my central nervous system and the only treatment option for me is high dose antibiotic medications delivered via IV infusion from my home. My health insurance will only pay for twenty eight days of therapy and I started IV treatment in mid November. My Lyme disease treatment must last for multiple months (at least one year) until it is determined that the bacteria are under control enough to discontinue IV therapy. Your donations will be covering IV antibiotics, IV supplies, weekly labs to monitor medication effects, dressing changes for IV catheter line that goes to my heart, nutritional supplements to help strengthen my immune system and also doctor visits with my Lyme specialist that is out of state. The current costs of my treatment is $4,600 dollars per month. Any leftover donation funds will be applied towards doctor copay costs, prescriptions and all other misc medical bills.
I lost my job because of this terrible disease and I have been home bound for the last seven months. I have not filed for disability yet because all I want in this world is to be able to provide for my wife and my special needs son again while also being a productive member of society and be able to stand on my own two feet again. You can help me get back out there and live life again by donating to my Lyme disease treatment fund.
